Volleyball

Friday, October 5, the Lady Longhorn Volleyball team improved their district record to 5-4 by defeating the Eagles from DeSoto in three games. Tuesday, October 9, the Lady Longhorn Volleyball team lost to Arlington Lamar, making their district record 5-5. The Lady Horns are currently tied for fourth place in district with four games left in the season. They will play Arlington Sam Houston at Sam Houston, Friday, October 12 at 6:30.

Football

The Longhorn Football team lost to the DeSoto Eagles Friday night by the score of 37-30. The Longhorns will take on the Arlington Lamar Vikings Friday at Cravens Field at 7:30. Directions: Take 67 N to 1382 to I-20 West. Take 360 N to I-30 West. Exit Lamar Blvd and turn left. Take Lamar Blvd. West to the stadium.

Cross Counrty

On Saturday, October 6th, 12 of the Cedar Hill Longhorn Boy’s Cross Country team competed at the Round Rock McNeil Invitational. This site plays host to the UIL State Cross Country Meet on November 11 th, 2006. The Varsity boy’s competed in the Gold division race which featured many top 10 teams in the state from 5A to 1A classifications. Samuel Lewis finished with the time of 17:18 finishing in 67th place; Ben Allen finished just seconds behind him at 17:21 and 71st place, and followed by Allen Bennett at 76th with the time of 17:26. The team finished in 20th place.

The JV boys competed in the 4A-5A Varsity race which also featured a couple top 10 teams in the state. They were led by Caleb Collins who finished a tough course in the Austin humidity at 19:24. Bryan Keese and Justin Barnett also ran well with times of 19:35 and 19:46 respectively. The JV team finished 36th overall out of 43 varsity teams.

The boys continue there quest for their first district title this Friday, October 12th, at the Sam Houston Meet at Lynn Creek Park, the site of our district meet.

Tennis

Team tennis was defeated by Duncanville, Tuesday, October 10. Team tennis finished their season finishing fifth in district.

Upcoming Longhorn Events:

  • The Lady Longhorn Volleyball Team will take on the Texans of Sam Houston, Friday, October 12 at 6:30pm at Sam Houston.
  • The Longhorn Football team will take on the Arlington Lamar Vikings , Friday, October 12 at 7:30 pm at Cravens Field in Arlington.
  • The Girls and Boys Cross Country teams will be competing Friday, October 12, at Lynn Creek Park in Arlington.
  • Monday, October 15, Permenter 7th grade volleyball will travel to Coleman to play at 5:30. The 7th grade Longhorn Bowl will begin at 5:30 at Longhorn Stadium.
  • Tuesday, October 16, the 8th grade Longhorn Bowl will begin at 5:30 at Longhorn Stadium.
  • Thursday, October 18, Permenter vs. Coleman 8th grade volleyball will begin at 5:30 in the competition gym at the High School.
