October 8, 2007

Dallas Morning News just posted an article about William Cole, the amazing QB from Cedar Hill’s State Championship team:

A new role for freshman William Cole was unveiled in the fourth quarter against Sam Houston State when the high school standout from Cedar Hill lined up at receiver and made his first career reception – an 8-yarder from backup quarterback Bobby Reid.Cole (6-0, 175) started out as a defensive back but made the switch in the middle of last week to shore up depth at receiver. He played both positions and quarterback at Cedar Hill.’We felt he could help us a little bit quicker probably as a wide receiver,’ defensive coordinator Tim Beckman said. ‘We thought that he might be able to catch the ball and make a play in space because he’s a great athlete. And we also knew that William wanted to get on the field.’As a senior, Cole ran for nearly 2,900 yards and passed for more than 1,600 yards as Cedar Hill won the Class 5A state title.”
