Juanita Browder, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, presented the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) Annual Report at the Feb. 13 school board meeting.
The AEIS is an annual report by the Texas Education Agency compiling data on topics ranging from student performance to an annual evaluation of school violence.
Texas Education Code 39.053 requires each district’s board of trustees to publish an annual report including AEIS, campus performance objectives, a report of violent or criminal incidents and information received from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
The board of trustees is required to hold a public discussion of the report and to widely disseminate the report within the district.
Cedar Hill ISD received an accountability rating of academically acceptable and its recommended high school program (Class of 2004) received a gold performance acknowledgment.
The high school’s overall rating was academically acceptable.
Bray Elementary received an exemplary rating with gold performances on Reading/ELA, Mathematics and Writing. Waterford Oaks and Lake Ridge elementaries were both rated as recognized.
Hard copies of the AEIS report are available through the district office and at the chamber of commerce and online at www.chisd.com.
The district’s website also contains further information on the accountability ratings including definitions and standards for them Information on the AEIS for the state, regions and districts is available at the TEA website at www.tea.state.tx.us/perfreport/aeis/2005/index.html.
